Make Your Dog’s Day – Bring ‘Em To Play Day!

We all know that a tired dog is a good dog.  For purely selfish reasons more often than not!  In reality, being tired from a fun activity is great for our dogs, not only physically but also mentally.  Many dogs live in a single dog home or with one other dog.  While they may have a fenced in yard, their main exercise comes from our ability to have the time to walk them – often for miles at a time when speaking of a larger dog.  Unfortunately, with time being so precious and our busy

lives, walks are often the first thing to go.  Its easy to convince ourselves that our dog (or dogs) are exercising themselves in the backyard, but its rarely true.

For a dog, nothing beats a romp with other dogs to make their day!  Why not bring them to A Place For Paws Saturday Play Day?  Our fenced in grassy acre and welcoming large indoor space is a perfect place for dogs to run, play, wrestle and socialize – both with people AND other dogs.  In the summertime we even have a POOL!  Yup, you heard correctly – a 9′ x 25′ x 4′ swimming pool just for dogs!  Well, people have been known (and are welcome) to get in as well!

Year round, every Saturday (unless a holiday) from 11-2, you can bring your dog to play.  Play Day is, in essence, a supervised dog park.  Owners stay with their pooches (and socialize amongst themselves) and pooches run around and have a great time.  All new dogs are evaluated and introduced slowly to the other dogs.  So long as they can get along and be sociable – they are welcome to play!  Any tiffs, spats or problems that arise are swiftly taken care of in an appropriate manner.

Play Day is great for dogs who are shy or haven’t had as much socialization as they needed as pups.  Dogs who are quiet, shy and retiring when they first arrive, get better and better as the day progresses.  Sometimes it takes a couple of visits – but they always come around and end up having the time of their life!  Dogs who are driving their owners crazy with their antics and mischief at home, revel in their new ability to run it all off and go home sleepy and satisfied.  Play Day is also great for the owners – meet other doggy minded folks and talk about DOGS!  Always a good time to be had.  In the summer there is swimming and in the winter they can play in the snow.  Don’t let a little mud stop you – we are fully equipped with a raised bath where you can clean your pooch up before putting

him in the car to go home.  Just bring his favorite shampoo and a towel and you will be good to go!  Play Day is also a great time to have your dog evaluated for Doggy Daycare.  If they can get along with the Play Day dogs, chances are they will thrive at Daycare.  This can be a great way to keep your dog active during the week while you are at work!  Dogs of all ages are appropriate for Play Day – from 8 week old puppies to seniors, all dogs can have a great time.  The cost is a mere $6 per dog and if you have additional canines, add $1 for each of them.  Passes are available upon request at a discounted price when you pay ahead for 10 visits.

Play Day is a safe and effective way to show your dog a great time.  Let him make some doggy friends (and you might make some friends too!) and run his little heart out.  You will be thrilled with the results and your dog will make friends and discover an outlet for his energy.  The mental stimulation, exercise and social interactions make Play Day a must for any lucky dog!
