The crate lady (she rents crates for next to nothing) in Redding, CT, told me to freeze the raw bones and give one to the dog for so many minutes, then freeze it again. So our rescued dog, Toby, thrived on such bones. And I used the same technique with Nemo. It was hard to find a reliable source of raw bones, let alone one that was a natural product. We lived in Wilton CT with Nemo for three years, and he had his nightly bone before dinner. Then we went to a Residence Inn for three months while our new house was being built. When we got to this house in Milford, Nemo spent many hours on the deck (it was November, and Sammys love the cold). Soon I noticed that there were splinters in the wood on the deck.Termites? Beavers? Nope, just Nemo, who missed his bones. Apparently Samoyeds love to chew wood. The official Samoyed website some time ago had a picture of Termite, a young Sammy puppy, who chewed his way out of a wooden crate! (I am just telling you this because you might be amused and interested...) Anyway, I had a very difficult time finding a reliable bone source until I discovered you on the Web. Not only do you have an excellent product, but it is very reasonably priced even with special shipping, is delivered promptly, and Nemo LOVES your bones. If I am not home at dinner time, and no one gives Nemo his bone, he "tells" me that he wants his bone by going to the freezer and sitting there. (He sits next the door to the deck when he wants to go out to the deck. No barks or coming to ask me to go out. If he sits there, the door eventually opens. Same for getting back into the house. Dog logic,sit there, the door opens. Same with water. If there is no water, he sits by the water bowl until I notice him. Sitting works. Rarely does he have to ask.)Ah, but the bones. He is definitely more insistent and gets my attention until I follow him to the freezer. This is one of his big moments of the day. And no more wood is being chewed on the deck! Nemo is very tolerant, very loving, the love of my friends, neighbors, and my son and his friends. His birthday is soon: March 15, the Ides of March. He will be eight! "-Mary K.
